St Augustine’s Repertory Society (STARS Darlington)
We are a very friendly group, with a diverse membership. Some of our members have years of experience drawn from within STARS and elsewhere. Others have specialised in backstage and technical roles over the years, and others still are brand new to any kind of amateur theatre. Our members age from 10 yrs to maturity, and all are welcome.
We’re also quite an active group, averaging 3 productions a year which include an annual pantomime, and various shows and plays. Take a look at our gallery to get a flavour of some of our work. Our range is broad: we have staged classics such as Shakespeare and Chaucer, more serious drama such as The Crucible and The Six Wives of Henry VIII, as well as comedy and farces in the form of one act plays. We also offer support to other local and parish groups when they need it, helping with staging and costumes etc.
We are also supported by the Parish of St Augustines, who continue to generously provide excellent facilities for us to rehearse and perform in. Supported by a bar and catering services which helps to give a very positive “audience experience”.
